Wine Descriptions
Varietal

Varietal refers to the type of grape used to make wine. So, simply put, Merlot is the primary type of grape used to make Merlot wine. It’s that straightforward!

Body

The richness and weight of the wine in your mouth. Other drinks have body as well! For example, whole milk has much more body than skim milk. Typically speaking, the more alcohol a glass of wine has, the more body it will have.

Dry/sweet

If a wine is “dry”, it means that it isn’t sweet because it has little to no residual sugar after the grape juice has been fermented into wine. A “sweet” wine would be the opposite, meaning that it has a higher amount of residual sugar and is thus, sweeter.

Wine Storage
Red

Red wines are best served slightly below room temperature, so about 65-68 degrees. Keep them stored in a cool, dry place, but not the refrigerator!

White

White wines should be served cool, so make sure to store them in the refrigerator and to put bottles back in once you’ve poured a glass.
